In June of 2016 I was approached via email by a researcher for Dr Tristram Ingham's Te Ara Hā study, focusing on a health literacy approach for Māori children with Asthma. I was tasked with designing a logo, colour scheme and potential font recommendations for publications, mostly for use in paper documents as a header. For this project, I explored a wide range of motifs inspired by 'air', influenced by Māori design. The final logo design was inspired by the Māori nose tattoo (Moko); this represents the idea of breathing. The sideways positioning of the design resembles a boat (Waka), which connotes the journey and progression of the research.
